Aussie's Travelling the USA in a Fifth Wheeler in Sturgis Rally in 2013
I will begin this site
with a clarification of what the Sturgis motorcycle rally is as some
individuals back home in Australia have never known about it.

As Sturgis is ordinarily
a residential community of somewhere in the range of 6,600 individuals you can
envision what a sudden deluge 500,000 bikers does to it. Various satellite camp
grounds open up every year around the range to oblige all the bikers - places
like the Full Throttle Cantina, Bison Chip and Shade Valley (where we stayed )
are open for only two weeks a year.
Shade Valley is around
10 miles from the town of Sturgis and like all stops it's not as modest as you
would expect - an insignificant tent site is $130 and up to $600 in addition to
for a RV site for a week. Shade Valley has been in operation for a couple of
years and they include another fascination every year - this year it was a zip
line ride. The more settled Wild ox Chip is immense, ZZ Top was one of the
numerous feature craftsmen they had performing there and the Full Throttle
Cantina had Bret Michaels from Toxic substance playing - for $10 a head we
couldn't avoid going to see him.
To get the chance to
Shade Valley we needed to experience the town of Sturgis - not surprisingly it
was Harley Davidson bikes all over the place - this would have been enjoyable.
A trek down the fundamental road that would regularly take minutes took us 30
minutes. Amid rally week the fundamental road is shut to autos.
